Bio

I'm interested in volcanoes, plutons, and the magmas that feed them, using igneous petrology and high-temperature geochemistry. This includes microstructural and chemical characterization of magmatic products to deduce their origins and the processes surrounding their crystallization, emplacement, and alteration. Much of my effort has focused on the Wichita Granite Group, a lithodeme that represents more than a dozen shallow-crustal intrusive bodies produced during rifting of the Eocambrian Southern Oklahoma Aulacogen.

I direct the Petrology and Geochemistry Lab in the Kimbell School of Geosciences
