Dr. Matthew Capps currently serves as professor of Educational Leaderships at the West College of Education. During his 25+ years in education, Dr. Capps has served as a junior high and high school science teachers, public school administrator, professor of educational leadership and graduate faculty member at the University of Arkansas, as well as MSU. In that time, he has worked with students from Pre-Kindergarten through PhD graduate students. Dr. Cappsâ research interest more recently focus on the impact of data on educational policy and practice, specifically, better understanding how data informs current policy and practice and better ways to accurately measure impact in the future. While Dean of the West College of Education, Dr. Capps has acquired over $2.0 million in private funding for the West College of Education and authored $7 million in federal funding while serving as Interim Dean of the Billie Doris McAda Graduate School. Dr. Capps serves on the Board of Visitors for CAEP, is a lead reviewer for and NELP.
