Bio


Melissa Laussmann has a MA in English, BA in English, and AA in Accounting. She is the academic counselor for Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Pre-Professionals for the McCoy College at MSU. Laussmann is also an adjunct for the English department and teaches Academic Research & Writing. She serves as a member of the Health Professionals Advisory Committee, Joint Admissions Medical Program, Academic Advising Council, College Council, and Texas Academic Advising Network.


Ms. Laussmann received the Staff Senate's "You Make a Difference" award in Nov. 2024. She has won several awards for her creative writing projects including first place in the adult category of poetry for "A Day at the Rhine," which was published in North Central Texas College's journal, "Sonder" in 2023. Laussmann was named "Outstanding Graduate Woman" at MSU in 2018, and won first place for her podium presentation in the graduate level at the Celebration of Scholarship at MSU in 2017.
