Melissa Laussmann is the academic counselor for Geosciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, & Pre-Professionals at McCoy College of Science, Mathematics & Engineering.

An alumna of Midwestern State University, Laussmann serves as a member of the McCoy College Council, Academic Advising Committee, Texas Academic Advising Network, Joint Admission Medical Program, and Health Professions Advisory Committee.

Laussmann is an award-winning poet and Touchstone Award nominee. She enjoys reading fiction and non-fiction and her research interests include ecocriticism and classic Asian poetics.
