Bio


Dr. Kim is an LPC who works for StarCare, Lubbock’s Mental Health Authority, as the Director of Forensic Mental Health and is contracted with her team to provide services at the Lubbock County Detention Center (LCDC). For the past 7 years, she has overseen the psychiatric Services provided in the LCDC, including but not limited to medication management, education, treatment, suicide prevention, mental health screening, special needs pods, compelled medications, competency restoration, 16.22 processes, acts as a liaison for law enforcement, and is a TCOLE instructor for mental health courses. She also is an adjunct professor for Midwestern State Universities’ counseling program. Lastly, she is a Sergeant First Class in the Texas Army National Guard. In her most recent assignment, she was stationed on the border (Eagle Pass) from November 2021 until January 2023 and has completed various other state-side and foreign deployments.
