Bio

My research focuses on deciphering the 3D geometric evolution of geologic structures, such as faults and shear zones, and how this evolution impacts the flow of heat and fluids in the subsurface over geologic time. Understanding how geologic structures develop and evolve and how they impact fluid and heat flow over geologic time is vital for the exploration and development of geothermal, groundwater, hydrocarbon, and mineral resources. In this research, I integrate field-based geologic mapping, computer-based subsurface geologic interpretation and numerical modeling, and laboratory-based petrological, geochemical, and geochronological studies.
