Carrie earned her Master of Education (Counseling and Guidance) from Texas State and her Bachelor of Science (Human Ecology) from The Ohio State University. She is completing her Ph.D. (Counselor Education) at Texas Tech University. Her credentials include certified school counselor, licensed professional counselor (Texas), and National Board-Certified Counselor. Carrie served as President of Texas Counseling Association (2018-2019) and was recognized at state and national levels for her leadership and professional advocacy. She was the recipient of the Dr. Jamesanna Kirven Outstanding Counselor Award (2016). Her research interests include adolescent development, counselor identity and leadership, and social justice issues and advocacy
